CUBS IN COLLEGE UPDATE

Casey Hibbs '06 - Midwestern State (NCAA D2) - Midfielder - started 17 of 18 games for the nationally ranked Mustangs (13-4-1).  He had one goal and one assist playing outside midfield. MWSU was defeated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament by Incarnate Word 1-0.

 Will Betts '09 - Mercer University (NCAA D1) - Midfielder - The Bears end the season 9-8-3 losing in the Atlantic Sun semi-finals as Will has started all twenty games for Mercer at defensive midfield and captained the Bears.  He also led the team in scoring 5 goals and had 2 assists. In addition, Will was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year and he carries a 3.97 GPA.  He is also a finalist for national academic honors to be announced.

Chase Michalak '09 - Concordia University (NCAA D3) - Defender - Chase started fourteen games for Concordia as they finish the season 6-7-3, 6-4-3 in the ASC. Chase was selected to captain the Crusaders this year. In addition, Chase was named to the American Southwest All-Conference team.

Estarlin Pereira - Celis '09 - Richland College (NJCAA D3) - Forward - played in eleven games and picked up 2 assists for the Thunderducks who finish 9-5-1 and nationally ranked.

Drew Clanahan '11 - Howard Payne University (NCAA D3) - Goalkeeper - Drew made three appearances (two starts) allowing two goals and posting a 1.09 GAA for the Hornets as they finish 7-9-0, 5-6-0 in the ASC.

Tyler Pieper '11 - Richland College (NJCAA D3) - Forward - played in twelve games and had 3 goals, 1 assists, for nationally ranked JUCO Richland College as the Thunderducks finish the season 9-5-1.

Gianni Contreras '11 - Richland College (NJCAA D3) - Midfielder - played in six games and scored one goal for the nationally ranked Thunderducks, 9-5-1.
